Ex Mayors and corporators resign from BJP in Surat

Surat, Dec 23 (UNI) Thousands of BJP workers, including Corporators and former mayors from the city, have resigned against the party high command's decision to issue show cause notices to senior state leader Keshubhai Patel and MP Kashiram Rana.

More than 1500 party workers and 20 former corporators, including former mayors Mr Fakirchand Chauhan, Mr Arvind Rana and Mr Ranjith Chamna resigned from the party in a meeting organised here today in the Gajera farm house by the Sardar Patel Utkarsh Samiti.

While reacting on the matter Mr Fakirchand said Chief Minister Narendra Modi was working like a ''dictator''.

''He has not done anything for the development of the state. Even if the party wins, we are going to revolt against Modi and his reign,'' he said.

Meanwhile the party has already suspended Mr Fakirchand and Mr Jivraj Darukawala.
