BJP's 'Gujarat victory' not to affect Karnataka politics: Kharge

Bangalore, Dec 23 (UNI) Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Mallikarjun Kharge today ruled out any impact of the BJP's victory in Gujarat on the coming Assembly elections in the state.

Mr Kharge told newspersons here the outcome of the Gujarat Assembly elections would not bring any change in the political situation in the state.

Stating that the situation in Karnataka was different from Gujarat, he said his party was ready to face the elections in the state.

Mr Kharge said his party would relaunch its 'Janandolan' programme or 'peoples movement' from December 27 to December 31 in Bijapur, Bagalkot, Koppal, Gadag and Bellary districts to garner people's support in the coming elections.

Earlier, the party had successfully covered ten districts under the programme and received good response, he said.
