BJP observers to elect Modi as new legislature party leader
New Delhi, Dec 23 (UNI) The BJP parliamentary board today decided to send its leaders Arun Jaitely and M Venkaiah Naidu as observers for formally electing Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the new BJP legislature party leader.
A decision to this effect was taken at the parliamentary board meeting here this evening, BJP General Secretary Arun Jaitely said.
Mr Modi has been projected as BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate in the just concluded assembly elections and it will only be a formality that Mr Modi will be chosen in the presence of central observers.
