Guwahati, Dec 23 (UNI) Reacting to the Bihar MP Sukhdeo Paswan's PIL in the Supreme Court for a CBI probe into the alleged nexus between Assam Heath Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma and the proscribed ULFA, Dr Sharma today termed it a 'conspiracy' of an 'anti-Assam' lobby.

Dr Sharma in a press statement here said Mr Paswan had been acting on behalf of an anti-Assam lobby active in Assam itself and accusing several leading personalities of the state of having links with the ULFA. ''I have evidence of his connivance and will place them before the Court,'' he said.

The minister also raised questions on why no BJP leader from the Assam moved the apex court against him despite having 10 MLAs, two MPs and also a former Union minister in its state leadership ranks.

Mr Paswan had filed the PIL in the apex court last week seeking the CBI enquiry into alleged links between Dr Sharma and the ULFA. He had earlier requested the central government for a high-level enquiry into the alleged links but his request was ignored.

The matter is likely to come up for hearing in the first half of January.
