President arrives in Hyderabad on 14-day visit

Hyderabad, Dec 22 (UNI) President Prathiba Patil arrived here today by a special aircraft on a 14-day visit to Southern parts of the country.

The President, accompanied by her family members, was received at the airport by Governor N D Tiwari, Assembly Speaker K R Suresh Reddy, State Home Minister K Jana Reddy, Women Development and Child Welfare Minister N Rajyalakshmi, Major Industries Minister J Geeta Reddy, top police and civil officials.

The first citizen would stay at Rashtrapati Nilayam at Bolaram on the outskirts of the city.

On December 26, the President would leave for Car Nicobar Islands and stay at the Raj Niwas, Port Blair, for two days. She would land at Renigunta airport on December 29 and stay at the Padmavathi Guest house in Tirumala.

After attending several programmes at Tirupati, she would reach Hyderabad by evening.

The President would leave for Delhi on January seven.
