Muslims celebrate Id-ul-Zuha in festive mood

Agartala, Dec 21 (UNI) The Muslim community in Tripura today celebrated Id-ul-Zuha with religious fervour.

Tripura Information, Culture and Tourism Minister Anil Sarkar and Governor D N Sahaya greeted the people on the auspicious occasion and said the festival commemorated the spirit of the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Muhammad.

Mr Sarkar said the occasion marked the commitment of the Prophet towards the upliftment of the poor, needy and underprivileged sections of the society.

He hoped the festival would further strengthen the cultural bonds among different communities and usher in joy and prosperity for all.

A huge number of people offered Namaz in the mosques across the state while the administration made adequate security arrangements on the occasion.
