Four robbers arrested in Delhi, weapons seized
New Delhi, Dec 21 (UNI) Police have arrested four robbers after a brief encounter and seized arms from them at Mangol Puri in Northwest Delhi.
On a tip-off that a gang was planning to rob a petrol pump at Pitampura, a police team last night chased the car in which the culprits were travelling. The occupants fired at the police party, police said.
The robbers, aged between 22 and 24 years, were overpowered and and three home made pistols, live cartridges and a knife were seized.
Police also recovered Rs 2.1 lakh in cash from their possession.
During interrogation, the criminals confessed to have committed two robberies. They had also served a three-year jail term in a robbery case, police added.
