Criminal arrested, pistol and 3 live cartridges seized

New Delhi, Dec 21 (UNI) A wanted criminal has been arrested and a home made pistol seized from his possesion.

Police said they had been receiving information about the criminal Mohd Arif, who has his hideout at Hapur in Uttar Pradesh.

A trap was laid and when he arrived in Delhi yesterday the police party challenged him.

Arif opened fire but was overpowered and arrested, police said adding that his weapon was seized along with three live cartridges.

He was involved in more than two dozen cases, including kidnapping and murder. A reward of Rs 50,000 had been declared for his arrest.
