Andaman and Nicobar Islands celebrate Id-ul-zuha

Port Blair, Dec 21 (UNI) The Andaman and Nicobar Islands today celebrated Id-ul-Zuha with religious fervour and enthusiasm.

Special prayers were offered at various mosques across the islands in the morning hours.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands Lt Governor Lt General (Retd) Bhopinder Singh greeted the people on the occasion.

''Id-ul-Zuha is the festival of sacrifice connected with the great pilgrimage of Yamum-ul-Adha,'' he said.

Mr Singh hoped that the festival strengthened the bonds of brotherhood among the islanders.

Meanwhile, Andaman and Nicobar Islands MP Manoranjan Bhakta also greeted the islanders on the occasion.
