TRS assails AP Govt on church property bill

Hyderabad, Dec 20 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS)President K Chandrasekhara Rao today said his party would oppose the draft Bill prepared by the State Government on protection of Church property.

Addressing the press here, he claimed the State Government was trying to illegally take over church properties under the guise of giving protection to them.

He claimed the government was also trying to merge missionary schools with the other educational institutions.

Regarding the Chief Minister's appeal to the Centre at the NDC meeting at New Delhi on more funds for irrigation projects taken up in the state, especially for those in the Telangana Region, Mr Rao said the people of the region would not tolerate any delay in creating a separate state for Telangana, under the guise of development.
