Rudraksha to launch musical talent hunt in Steel cities

Jamshedpur, Dec 20 (UNI) Rudraksha, a city-based socio-cultural organisation, will hunt for singing talents in six steel cities across the country from January next year.

Organisation Director Manoj Kumar said here today that the events have been designed to search for musically talented people from Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Bhilai, Rourkela, Durgapur and Vishakhapatanam.

The first audition would be held on January 13 and 14 here and four judges-- international flute player Pandit Chetan Joshi (Bokaro), music directors Gautam Mallik (West Bengal), Abhijit Majumdar(Orissa) and the city-based classical singer Chandrakant Apte-- would choose the winner.

Mr Kumar said by February next year the audition would be completed and the final would be held here in October.

Altogether 30 contestants, five each from six cities, would be selected for the semi-final berth, he said.

Mr Kumar said the ETC musical channel would air the competition from quarter final stage and the winner would get a Santro car while the runners up would be given a Hero Honda Karizma.

Besides, the winners would be offered musical contracts for albums by ETC channel, he added.
