Police seize Rs 28 lakh, 616 passposts from travel agent

Jalandhar, Dec 20 (UNI) Punjab Police today raided a travel agent and recovered nearly Rs 28 lakh in cash and 616 passports from his possession here.

Confirming the raid, SP (D) P S Parmar said that the raid was conducted at Shivam Travel Agency owned by Rajiv Soni and nearly Rs 28 lakh in cash and 616 passports, were seized.

The case has been forwarded to Immigration Department in Chandigarh for verification of licence of the agent and to know the limit of keeping the passports. Income Tax Department has also been informed, he added.

No case has been registered so far as investigations were on, he said.
