KMC's general body meet witnesses noisy scenes
Kolhapur, Dec 20 (UNI) The general body meeting of the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) held here today witnessed nosiy scenes over making distinction in allocation of funds in the budget to all corporators for proposed developmental works.
Corporator Ajit Rout raised the budget allotment issue in the meeting and charged that the elected office-bearers were only getting adequate budget for proposed developmental works in their respective areas, while other corporators were getting inadequate funds.
The issue was supported by senior corporator Sanjay Pawar, Ajit More and others, who shouted slogans against the administration.
They then staged a walkout to register their protest against the administration.
The meeting tentatively approved the four project proposals, including development of some empty places on built operate and transfer (BOT) basis, health city hospital and others on condition that it places detailed reports, condtions and terms, papers before the general body for stduy before any further step.
Meanwhile, KMC standing committee former chairman Ravi Ingawale, with his supporters, today staged a daylong 'dharna' agitation in front of the KMC's building, opposing the four approved projects.
