HC issues notice to Haryana MP, govt on 'fake' encounter

Chandigarh, Dec 20 (UNI) Justice Nawab Singh of Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notices to Haryana MP Jai Prakash and state home secretary among others on a petition filed in connection with an alleged fake encounter.

The petition was filed by mothers of two persons, belonging to village Loharwara in district Bhiwani, who were killed by the police allegedly in an encounter on July 21 this year.

The petitioners, Shanti and Murti, have prayed for CBI probe into the encounter which they alleged was fake and done at the instance of Jai Prakash and Rajpati, the sarpanch of the village.

The notices were returnable on March 14 next.
