Farmer commits suicide in Chamarajanagara District
Mysore, Dec 20(UNI) Unable to pay loans, a 32-year old farmer in Chamarajanagara district committed suicide by consuming poison last night.
The police said that Siddaraju of Harvee had taken a loan of Rs 4,00,000 from an ICICI Bank to buy a tractor.
The bank had provided the tractor without any necessary equipment for irrigation purpose.
It had issued warnings to him stating that his tractor would be confiscated. He consumed the poison and died on the way to K R Hospital here.
The Raitha Sangha leaders and villagers staged a dharna in front of the ICICI bank demanding a compensation to the relatives of the farmer.
