DHBVN to instal meters with sim cards on transformers

Chandigarh, Dec 20 (UNI) To ensure balanced load on all the three phases of distribution transformers, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has decided to instal meters on the transformers having sim cards carrying information of unbalanced load will be available in the control room at the Nigam's head office at Hisar.

This was stated by DHBVN Managing Director Vijayendra Kumar here today while presiding over a meeting of officers of operation wing of the Nigam to review operation activities of the Nigam.

Variation in load on the three phases of distribution transformers was a major reason of tripping and breakdowns in power supply and damage to transformers, he said.

The Nigam was planning to introduce another new technology i.e. automatic power factor corrector system on transformers to ensure regular power supply at proper voltage. This system would help reduce line losses also.

He said that the DHBVN plans to make power supply management very efficient from the control room in head office "Vidyut Sadan" at Hisar.

He said that the DHBVN officials disconnected 50,000 connections of defaulter consumers under a special campaign for revenue realisation.
