Chennai, Dec 20 (UNI) Noted publishers Tamilmann Pathippagam, known for its contributions to Tamil studies, has come out with first edition of complete works of Navalar Na Mu Venkatasamy Nattar, the Tamil scholar of the 20th century.
Giving details of the compilation of Navalar Nattar's works, Mr G Elavazhagan, Managing Director, Tamilmann Pathippagam said the ''Complete works of Navalar Nattar'' would be released here on December 29 by Malaysian Public Works Minister Datto Shri S Samivelu.
The release function would be presided over by Tamil Nadu Minister for School Education Thangam Thennarasu.
CPI leader R Nallakannu, Prof P Virudhachalam, founder of NMV Nattar Oriental Collge Thanjavur, would be among those who would grace the function, he said.
The set of complete works of Navalar Nattar consist of 24 volumes, he said adding the major part of the 24 volumes comprised the authoritative and comprehensive commentaries of Nattar in lucid Tamil on Sangam classics like 'Silapathikaaram' and 'Manimekalai' and on 'Thiruvilaiyadal Puranam' of Paranjothi Munivar.
The remaining parts bring together, at one place all the valuable writings of Nattar on Tamil Nadu history, Tamil grammar, occasional essays of Nattar on various fields of Tamilology, he said.
Mr Elevazhagan said the Pathippagam would establish a charitable trust for humanitarian causes.
The Pathippagam would release shortly the works of Bharathidasan, complete works of T V Sadasiva Pandarahaar and complete works of Pulavar Kuzhanthai, he added.
