Bandh to protest custodial death total in K'nata town

Gulbarga, Dec 20 (UNI) The bandh called by the All India Banjara Seva Sangh at Chittapur town, near here, to protest the alleged custodial death of a youth was total today.

Police sources said all educational institutions, government offices and commercial establishments remained closed.

The RTC buses also stayed off the road.

No untoward incident was reported, police said.

A 25-year-old youth, identified as Krishna Kumar Rathod, had died in police custody on December 18, after being arrested for brewing illicit arrack.

Two police constables had been suspended and a murder case under Section 302 of IPC registered against them, police added.
