2 IGI airport officials get 3-yr RI for graft

New Delhi, Dec 20 (UNI) A Special court here today sentenced two officials of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport to three-year rigorous imprisonment (RI) and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each for accepting bribes.

Special CBI judge S K Kaushik sentenced M P Singh and Sumit Kumar Verma for demanding Rs 500 from complainant Rajkumar Chauhan, a junk dealer.

The two had demanded money in return of allowing the complainant to take immediate delivery of goods purchased in auction.

Verma was caught red-handed accepting the bribe on December 25, 1999.
