2 drug peddlers nabbed; 3 kg smack seized

New Delhi, Dec 20 (UNI) Two drug peddlers were arrested and 3.08 kg of smack worth Rs 15 lakh in the international market was seized from their possession here, police said today.

DCP (South) Anil Shukla told mediapersons that on a tip-off about Maskar (40) and Haroon (27) coming by bus to deliver smack in Faridabad, Haryana, yesterday, a police team apprehended them from a bus of route number 460 at Mathura Road.

Police recovered 2500 gm of smack from Maskoor and 580 gm of the same from Haroon, he said.

Interrogation revealed that Maskoor, a registered medical practitioner, was the main supplier of the drug, while Haroon was his trafficker and both of them hailed from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.

They had been involved in the crime for the past five years.

They used to get smack from a person who in turn got it from Rai Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh and used to deliver it in Faridabad and other cities of Haryana.

The two revealed that they used to travel in public transport to avoid detection by police.

Efforts were on to nab the receiver and supplier of smack, the DCP said.
