Nashik, Dec 20 (UNI) A case of kidnapping a 14-year-old girl by the family of her admirer has come to light in Bhagur town of the city.

According to the police, the victim, Sonali Chandrakant Bodke, a resident of Teligalli, was on her way to school yesterday when a woman, Hirabai Mukhe, stopped her and asked Sonali to accompany her.

Hirabhai's brother, Popat Bhangare, joined his sister and threatened Sonali that he would molest her, if she did not come with them.

The brother and sister duo then took Sonali to their house where Popat's other sister, Satyabhama, and brother, Dada, forced Sonali to marry Popat. When Sonali protested, the Bhangare family locked her in the house.

Sonali, somehow, managed to escape and on reaching home she narrated the whole incident to her parents. Following this, Sonali's father, Chandrakant Bodke, lodged a complaint with the Deolali police.

The police have registered a case against Popat Bhangare, Hirabai Mukhe, Satyabhama Tatkare, Dada Bhangare under sections 341, 142, 354, 506, 509 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and further investigations are on.

Popat is said to be in love with Sonali but, she was not responding positively to his advances. Popat used to trouble her frequently. According to primary reports, yesterday's incident also seems to be a result of his one-sided love.
