Woman flung from fourth floor of building

Nashik, Dec 19 (UNI) A man and his mother allegedly killed his wife, by throwing her from the fourth floor of the building they were residing in.

According to police, one Rakesh Anand Ahire (28) and his mother Anjanbai Ahire (45), residents of Kharde, Devla Taluka, allegedly killed his wife Vaishali (20) by throwing her from the fourth floor of Building No 3, Shubham Park, CIDCO on December 16. They were arrested yesterday after a complaint was lodged by Vaishali's mother Surekha Tayde (38), resident of Jalna district, with Ambad police on December 17.

According to the complaint, Rakesh and his mother were harassing Vaishali physically and mentally and demanding money from her for purchasing a house. Vaishali had given an inkling of her harassment to her mother.

She was critically injured in the incident and admitted to a private hospital where she succumbed to her injuries late last night.

Rakesh had married Vaishali on May 16, 2006. They have a two-month-old son. Rakesh works as a security guard in a bank here.

A case has been registered under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code and further investigations are on.

Rakesh and his mother Anjanbai were produced before a local court here today, which remanded them to police custody till December 24.
