Swamy demands dismissal of DMK Govt
Chennai, Dec 19 (UNI) Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy today demanded the dismissal of the DMK Government in Tamil Nadu for allegedly supporting the banned LTTE.
In a statement here, he referred to the remarks of AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa and said ''she pertinently posed a question to the Centre about the anti-national activities of the DMK government in aiding and abetting the LTTE, which is a banned terrorist organisation in several countries, including India.'' He said ''besides, the two top LTTE leaders were wanted as accused No one and two by the trial court in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case and have been declared as proclaimed offenders.'' ''Hence the DMK Government deserves to be dismissed, as it was for the same reason as in 1991,'' he added.
Dr Swamy said AICC President Sonia Gandhi owed an explanation as to why the Congress was in coalition with the DMK, a party that was supporting the killers of her husband Rajiv Gandhi.
''This question needs to be answered because no 'Indian widow' would even contemplate aligning with those who keep the company with her husband's killers,'' he added.
