NCB seize drugs worth Rs 70 cr, nab 5 in Thane Dist

officials
of
Narcotics
Control
Bureau
(NCB)
today
seized
drugs
worth
Rs
70
crore
from
Shahapur
in
the
neighbouring
Thane
district
and
arrested
five
people,
including
two
Singapore
and
one
Mexican
nationals,
in
this
connection.
NCB officials have identified the arrested accused as Sheikh Kadar, Raul Mohammad (both Singapore nationals), Rafel Garsia (Mexican national), Shah Nawaz Khan and one Patil (both Indians).
The accused used to smuggle out raw materials required for manufacture of drug tablets from here to Australia and from there, they smuggled out the tablets to southern African countries, where there was good demand for the same. The seized consignment was worth Rs 70 crore in the international market, they said, adding, further investigations are on.
