Bhopal, Dec 19 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government is filing a caveat in the High Court against former Health Director Yogiraj Sharma, who was compulsorily retired after being found in possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Official sources said the government was also investigating into recruitment made and purchase of medicines done during his tenure.

Dr Sharma was compulsorily retired on December 10 on the basis of findings of a three-member committee to look into the charge of accumulating assets more than his known sources of income.

The committee comprised the Principal Secretary (Health), the Principal Secretary (General Administration) and the Additional Secretary (General Administration).

Unaccounted wealth worth several crores of rupees was unearthed during a recent raid by the Income Tax department from the premises of the former Health Director and other places.

Following the raid, Dr Sharma was suspended and chargesheet was served. However, he was compulsorily retired before he could reply to the chargesheet.
