New Delhi, Dec 19 (UNI) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Comissioner A K Nigam today visited Delhi High Court to discuss problems relating to payments to the contractors empanelled with the department.

The summons by the Court were not to formally call Mr Nigam for any fault of his, rather it was a friendly call.

After a series of petitions received from contractors by the court of Justice Geeta Mittal, alleging that the MCD was not making payments even after the assigned work had been finished, the court thought it worthwhile to call the Commissioner and discuss such issues.

Mr Nigam was accompanied by MCD lawyer Sumita Kapil and MCD Standing Counsel Sanjive Sabharwal. The meeting took place in Justice Mittal's chamber.

Later in the evening, Mr Nigam also held meetings with the High Court judges in connection with various other issues including the multiple parking lot to be built near the High Court.
