Jalgaon celebrates President's birthday

Jalgaon, Dec 19 (UNI) Jalgaon, the home district of President Pratibha Patil, celebrated her 73rd birthday today with much fanfare.

In Jalgaon city, the squares were decorated with colourful ''rangolis'' while digital banners were put up at various places to extend greetings to the President on the occasion of her birthday.

The Raosaheb Rupchand Vidyalaya, the President's alma mater, had also organised a programme to celebrate Mrs Patil's birthday.

Nandgaon, the President's birth-place, also wore a festive look and a ''Gaurav Yatra'' was taken out which will pass through different villages in the district.

The President is likely to visit the district on February 7 and 8 next year, and a felicitation programme has been planned during her visit.
