Ganja worth Rs 15 lakh seized, 2 held

Jaunpur, Dec 19 (UNI) Police have arrested two members of an inter-state smuggling gang and seized about 200 kg ganja, worth Rs 15 lakh.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Lalji Shukla today said ''Madhusudan and Idreesh were arrested with the smuggled ganja during vehicle checking in Gaurabadshahpur area late last night.'' The syndicate used to smuggle ganja from Bihar to Pratapgarh, Rae Bareli, Sultanpur and Lucknow, the SP added.

A search to nab the other members of the syndicate had been launched, while further investigations were underway.

Meanwhile, a reward of Rs 17,000 has been awarded to the police team.
