Congress plays down court order against Tytler
New Delhi, Dec 19 (UNI) Seeking to downplay the Delhi court notice ordering the CBI to reinvestigate the 1984 anti-Sikh riot case against former Union Minister Jagdish Tytler, the Congress Party today said it had full faith in the legal system and judiciary.
"It is a judicial order. It is for the CBI to obey the direction," AICC Spokesman Shakeel Ahmed told mediapersons.
Rejecting the CBI's report giving a clean chit to Tytler and seeking closure of the case, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjiv Jain said yesterday that the matter needed to be further investigated and directed the CBI to submit its report by January 16.
