Calendar dedicated to Bhagat Singh released

Khatkar Kalan (Nawanshehr), Dec 19 (UNI) A new-year calendar having picture of Shaheed Bhagat Singh was today released during the ongoing Bharat Nirman Public Information campaign being held at village Naura.

Deputy Commissioner Gurpal Singh Bhatti and Press Information Bureau (NR) Director Kanchan Prasad Mandlaus released the calendar, especially prepared by the PIB, Jalandhar on the occassion to remember Shaheed Bhagat Singh on the birth centenary year.

Speaking on the occassion, Mrs Mandlaus said that the sacrifies made by the great martyr to get the country free from imperialism could never be forgotten.

She said that Shaheed Bhagat Singh made the district of Nawanshern a soil of great martyrs whereas incidents of female foeticide had brought a bad name to the district.

The DC said that spirit of progress and growth remained high of only those nations which kept their martyrs ever remembered.
