Jaunpur, Dec 19 (UNI) Lambasting the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the centre for failing to maintain internal security, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former union minister Swami Chinimyanand today claimed both naxalism and terrorism had increased in the country.

''People have started losing confidence in the central government, as it has failed to maintain internal security,'' the BJP leader and former Minister of State for Home claimed addressing media here.

Earlier, 55 districts were affected by naxalism, but now as many as 165 districts of 15 states are Naxal-hit, he said.

''ULFA has become the main challenge for the country's internal security, as it is hand-in-glove with ISI,'' Swami Chinimyanand added.

''Similarly, Bangladesh's terror outfit HuJI was working with ISI and SIMI network in India,'' he claimed.

The BJP leader further flayed the Mayawati government for failing to maintain law and order in the state.

''All the vows made by the UP government have fallen like a pack of cards...her government was only giving birth to goons and politicians having criminal background,'' he underlined.

Criticising the proposed Ganga Express Highway project, Mr Chinimyanand alleged it will only pollute the river Ganga and waste hectares of fertile land.
