TN Govt announces holiday for schools due to heavy rain

Chennai, Dec 18 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government today announced a holiday for all schools in the state tomorrow in view of heavy rains.

School Education Director Mr Jaganathan said if examinations were scheduled for tomorrow, they could be re-scheduled by the concerned educational officers, he said.

Heavy rains were lashing the city and several parts of the state following a trough of low pressure.

The weather office predicted more rains for the next 24 hours as the low pressure might develop into a depression.
