No confidence motion against Koda govt defeated
Ranchi, Dec 18 (UNI) The first no-confidence motion against the 15-month-old UPA-backed Madhu Koda government was today rejected with the Opposition NDA managing to secure 33 votes against the treasury's tally of 41.
After a more than six - hour long debate, Speaker Alamgir Alam asked the members to stand who supported the motion.
The motion was rejected as 33 members were found in its favour and 41 against it.
As the House reassembled in the second half, the debate on the motion began at 1500 hrs.
Leader of the Opposition Arjun Munda and four others moved the motion for consideration.
