Nine killed, three injured in accident

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Dec 18 (UNI) Nine people were today killed and three seriously injured when the jeep, in which they were travelling, collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction, near Phulamri, about 20 kms from here.

The Phulamri-bound jeep was carrying at least 12 passengers, including some students, when the accident occurred this morning.

According to police sources, eight of the deceased have been identified as Datta Katkar, Bhausaheb Shelke and Sandeep Nagre (both students), Mahadeo More, Ramesh Perkar, Mumtazbi Salahuddin, Vaishali Prasad and Abhishek Prasad.

The injured were rushed to a local hospital, the sources added.
