Hassan, Dec 18 (UNI) A city court today ordered resumption of shooting of the controversial Kannada film ''Mukhya Mantri I Love You'', after hearing a petition alleging that it contained derogatory scenes showing former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda and his family in poor light.

The First Principal District Sessions Court Judge Srinivas, in his interim order, however instructed the producers of the film ensure that the image of the former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda and his family members was not tarnished.

Advocate Diwakar, a Janata Dal(S) activist, had filed the petition alleging that some scenes in the film showed Mr Gowda's family in poor light and sought a stay against the shooting.

Veteran actor Loknath plays a role which purportedly resembles Mr Gowda. The film is being produced by Ravi Belagere, a senior journalist.

Mr Belagere had contended before the court that his film did not have such scenes criticising Mr Gowda and he had no intention to defame Mr Gowda or his family.
