MCL worker dies in mine accident

Sambalpur, Dec 18 (UNI) Arjun Behera, a driver working in Lakhanpur mines of Mahanadi Coal Milited (MCL), succumbed to the burn injuries yesterday.

The employee, who was critically injured in a fire inside the mine on December 14 last, was admitted at the Ispat General Hospital at Rourkela.

The workers had alleged that safety norms as per directives of the Mines Safety Directorate were not strictly adhered to by the MCL authorities.
