Mah Animal Husbandary Minister reviews Qurabani arrangements
Mumbai, Dec 18 (UNI) Maharashtra Minister for Animal Husbandry and Aukaf, Anees Ahmed along with BMC Municipal Commissioner, Jairaj Phatak today visited the Deonar abbatoir and reviewed the ''Qurbani'' arrangements, here today.
Deonar abbatoir is said to be the Asia's largest slaughter house.
Later, the Minister also held a meeting with the cattle traders, and heard their problems.
''I am told that more doctors are required here and water is also not available in sufficient quantity. So we discussed all these issues and their solutions with the Municipal Commissioner,'' the Minister said.
The Minister also announced that the temporary shade, where cattle are kept will be converted into a permanent shade very shortly.
On the issue of the traders complaint, Mr Ahmed said that his attempt was to curb the practice of middle man culture and ensure that the traders get the best price for their cattle.
During the meeting, a group of workers held protest against alleged attempts of some politicians to replace them with the people of their choice.
