Lok Ayukta calls for fight against corruption

Udupi, Dec 18 (UNI) Karnataka Lok Ayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde today called upon the youth to raise their voice against the 'rampant corruption' in Government departments.

Delivering a lecture on 'Inculcating ethical values in professional education' at the Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management here, he alleged the recent State Government executive ordered that no Government official should be suspended on corruption charges, unless he was caught in a 'sting operation' or chargesheeted, was intended to ''protect'' the corrupt officials.

He had written a letter to the Governor in this regard, he added.

Justice Hegde expressed displeasure over the Law Ministry's move to amend the Prohibition of Corruption Act, bringing the onus on the investigating agencies to prove the charges.

Renowned journalist and Prasar Bharathi Chairman M V Kamat released 'Nitte Management Review' on the occasion.
