Manipal, Dec 18 (UNI) Mr P K H Tharakan, Advisor to Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur, today said that the Law and Parliamentary Department was examining the letter sent by State Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde expressing his serious concern on the issue of executive orders by the Government on service rules, stating that no Government official could be suspended on graft charges unless he was caught in sting operation or charge sheeted.

Speaking to mediapersons, at a function held at Nitte in Udupi district, Mr Tharakan said that the department had received the letter from the Lokayukta. Without going much into the details on the issue, he clarified that the executive orders were issued by the then Government in power and not during the Presidents Rule.

On the plights of the eight families, who were allegedly restricted by the officials of Nagarjuna Power Company Ltd (NPCL) at Santhar in Udupi taluk, Mr Tharakan assured that he would discuss the matter with the Deputy Commissioner.
