Hyderabad, Dec 18 (UNI) A Habeas Corpus petition, seeking a direction to police to produce CPI (Maoist) Central Commitee Member M Raji Reddy alias Sattenna, arrested by Andhra Pradesh police at Aluva in Kerala, before any court in the state was filed in the High Court here today.

The petition was filed by Raji Reddy's mother.

Talking to newspersons, Ms Rajamma said the petition was filed in the High Court as her son faced a threat to life from the police.

Meanwhile, Revolutionary Telugu Balladeer and poet Gaddar, along with the relatives of the naxal leader met Home Minister K Jana Reddy and urged him to produce Raji Reddy in a court in the state.

Raji Reddy and a tribal woman were taken into custody by the Andhra Pradesh police yesterday from Aluva near Kochi.

He was suspected to be involved in the murder of former Assembly Speaker D Sripada Rao.

He carried a reward of Rs 12 lakh on his head.

Meanwhile, a top Maoist leader and Venkatapuram Special Guerrilla Squad commander in Khammam district Chetti Prameela alias Swarnakka alias Vidhya surrendered before Superintendent of Police Soumya Mishra.

The naxal, who had been the North Telangana Special Zonal Committee (NTSZC) protection platoon member, had gone 'underground' for the past 15 years.

Prameela, a native of Tekumatla of Chityal mandal in Warangal district, is the wife of Maoist senior leader and NTSZC Scretariat member Chetti Rajapapaiah, who died in an encounter with police on July one, 2007, in Medaram forest.
