Govt to recruit Army personnel as special police officers

Hyderabad, Dec 18 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government today granted permission to the City Commissioner of police to recruit 1,000 retired Army personnel or Ex-service men as special police officers in the city.

According to a press release here, they would be required to perform various police duties including patrolling, frisking and vehicle checking.

They would be paid Rs 7,500 per month without any other allowances, the release added.
