Ganga Express Highway project example of corruption in UP: Cong
Bulandshahr, Dec 18 (UNI) Denouncing the Mayawati led-Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government in Uttar Pradesh for increasing corruption, Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) president Rita Bahuguna Joshi today said the proposed Ganga Express highway project was a prime example.
''The people of UP do not need the project, but development, which is lagging,'' Ms Joshi told mediapersons here.
Noting the upward trend of crime graph in the state, the UPCC president said ''like the previous Samajwadi Party (SP) regime, the present regime is looting people of the state...the dues of cane farmers are yet to be cleared.'' Ms Joshi asserted her party would soon come to power in UP.
She further demanded the arrest of a rape accused ruling Bahujan Samaj Party MLA and suspension of a Station House Officer (SHO).
