Former MLA dies in Bangalore

Mysore, Dec 18(UNI) Former MLA D Kariyappa Gowda died of prolonged illiness in a private hospital in Bangalore at early hours today.

He was 75 and survived by two sons and two daughters.

He represented Hunsur assembly constitutency in 1972 later vacated the seat in favour of late Chief minister D Devaraj Urs.

He was a Member of Legislative Council for one term. He also served as Chairman of Karnataka Adult Education Board and Mysore Lac and Paints in 1986.

His body would be brought to his native village of Kerijaji in Hunsur taluk in the district for last ritess.
