Fire in Sewri slums, no casualties

Mumbai, Dec 18 (UNI) A major fire today engulfed a cluster of slums and adjacent godowns in Darukhana Bunder at Sewri in Central Mumbai.

According to fire-brigade officials, the fire broke out at 1850 hrs this evening at a slum colony and soon spread to nearby slums and adjacent godowns.

Eight fire engines and 4 water tankers were engaged in the fire-fighting operations.

There were no reports of casualties. The cause of the fire was still to be ascertained.
