Cong leader attacked in Kannur

Kannur, Dec 18 (UNI) Congress leader and Dharmadom grama panchayat member P T Sanal Kumar was allegedly attacked by CPI(M) activists at Chirakuni about 20 km from here.

According to police, the activists stabbed 45-year-old Sanal Kumar on his legs and hands yesterday.

He was admitted to the Indira Gandhi hospital, Thalassery.

Mr Kumar's house was allegedly attacked by CPI(M) activists a month ago. No arrest was made, police said.

Additional police force was deployed in the area.
