AIU nabs 3 at Mumbai airport with Rs 40 lakh fake currency

Mumbai, Dec 18 (UNI) Three people were arrested by the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport here and seized fake Indian and foreign currency worth Rs 40 lakh.

Rajesh Newawala and two of his associates -- Shashikant Kotiyan and Arun Shura -- were nabbed by the AIU sleuths last evening, when they were heading for a Bangkok-Hong Kong flight of the Thai Airways from the metropolis, AIU officials said today.

The trio was today presented before the court, which sent them to judicial custody till January 1 next year, they added.
