Workshop on "Historic Urban Landscapes of the 20th Century"

Chandigarh, Dec 17 (UNI) A four-day workshop on ''Historic Urban Landscapes of the 20th Century'', beginning here tomorrow, has assumed importance in the light of the fact that that UNESCO is presently considering heritage status for Le Corbusier's works in Chandigarh.

The workshop is being organised by the Chandigarh Administration in association with the UNESCO.

Experts and prominent personalities who will take part in the workshop have already started arriving here. They include Mr Francesco Bandarin, the Director of the World Heritage Centre of UNESCO and the representative of the Archeological Survey of India.

The workshop would cover various aspects of the heritage. It will bring specialists in urban and architectural history, leaders of heritage policies and stakeholders together.
