Two held for planning to loot J

Srinagar, Dec 17 (UNI) The Army today claimed to have apprehended two people planning to loot a branch of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank at a Bandipora village.

A defence spokesman said troops, on a road domination patrol, arrested two people moving in a suspicious manner in the vicinity of Banakut village in Bandipora district.

The apprehended individuals have been identified as Irshad Ahmed Khan and Tanvir Ali Batuar, both residents of Kulus in Bandipora.

He said a Chinese pistol with ammunition, some Pakistani and Nepali currency and a map showing the layout of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Bandipora branch, have been seized from their possession.

Interrogation of the arrested revealed that they were planning to loot the Jammu and Kashmir Bank at Bandipora, the spokesman said, adding the two have been handed over to the local police.
