Terrorism law to be enacted in MP

Bhopal, Dec 17 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government is enacting a law on the lines of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act to deal with organised crime and terrorism.

The decision was taken at a state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today, official sources said.

The meeting decided to take necessary steps to get prior approval from the Centre before tabling the Bill in this regard before the assembly.

The meeting stressed on the need for an integrated law for tackling the menace of organised crime and terrorism. A draft would be prepared by a senior secretary-level committee and would be later sent to the legal department for modification.
