Tata steel organises two-day International symposium
Jamshedpur, Dec 17(UNI) A two-day international symposium, jointly organised by R&D Division of Tata Steel with Indian Institute of Metals(IIM), Jamshedpur Chapter, on Automotive Sheet Metal Forming, began here today.
Inaugurating the function, Anand Sen, Vice-President(Finished Products),Tata Steel, urged R&D of Steel and automotive industries to work for a win-win situation for both.
Mr Sen asked for holistic approach to component design and to incorporate multi-material solutions.
Delivering the key note address, Dr Henk Vegter,Corus (RD&T), shared his vast experience in sheet metal forming and simulation with other dignitaries and participants.
Altogether 14 invited speakers from all over the world would deliver lectures at this symposium. A large number of participants representing industries, research organizations and academia from all over India would be attending this international symposium,which was a part of celebration of completion of 70 years of Tata Steel's R&D division, established in 1937.
